Frugal Fun-14 Uses Of Vodka

14 uses of Vodka? Yes, there is more to Vodka than drinking. Centuries ago, Vodka was used as a medicine to cure just about anything from infertility, to the plague. But in these days we tend to use it as a social lubricant, its like an unwritten cure for socializing.

Vodka is a natural distilled substance derived from wheat,   grains, rye, potatoes, and or rice. I know, very simple, all natural contents right? So,what can Vodka possibly be capable of, besides getting folks a little “woozy”. Let’s take a look:

1) Does it take you a substantial amount of time to remove a bandage from a bruise? Afraid of the pain endured? Well, have no fear..Vodka is here! Saturating the bandage with vodka loosens the bondage and dissolves the adhesive. No more of those stubborn bandages!

2)Hanging outdoors and noticed you were attacked by Poison Ivy?, well immediately rub the alcohol on the body part that has come in contact with the Poison. This will wash away the itch. Some say rubbing alcohol works better than Vodka, but I’m sure folks will have a bottle of Vodka more readily available rather than a bottle of  rubbing alcohol.

3)Clean up molds and mildew with Vodka! Pour Vodka in a spray bottle, spray your shower, bath tub, and tiles and let it stand for about 5 minutes and then wash clean!

4)Tired of your razors rusting? Place razors in a cup, or bowl of vodka, and let it soak. Soaking razors in vodka not only prolongs the life of your razor, but it also cleanses and disinfects the blades.

5)You or your friend had a wild night with Vodka and puked all over your clothing? Well, the same substance that causes the vomit, cleanses the vomit! Spray some vodka on the stain, scrub with a brush, then blot dry, and BAM! stains are gone. Or you can just drink responsibly.

cleans the skin, and tightens the pours.

7)Hay, there IS some good use to getting a bottle of Vodka poured all over your head! Vodka cleanses the scalp, removes toxins from the hair, and stimulates smooth, healthy, luxurious locks! Add a splash of vodka to your 12 ounce bottle of shampoo.

8)Have fun making your very own mouthwash! Mix 9 tablespoons of a spice (cinnamon), along with 1 cup of vodka. Seal the concoction tight in a container for 2 weeks. Strain the mixture (with a coffee strainer), mix with warm water, and there you have it, your very own mouthwash! Sorry folks, this is one time you can NOT swallow vodka. treat it as a regular mouthwash (or a tasteless, horrible beverage) and spit!

9)Got a toothache and have no meds or dentist available? well, whip out your friday night Vodka and swish some of the vodka over the aching tooth.  Your gums will absorb some of the alcohol and numb the pain. But before you jump in the arms of your significant other, pop a mint…a FEW of ’em. He or she may accuse you of starting the party without them.

10)Make your own ice pack! Pour 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of Vodka in a freezer bag. Place the bag in the freezer and allow the contents to freeze. When frozen, it can be used as a reusable ice pack for aches, pains, black eyes etc.

12)Feet smelling a little harsh? wash your feet with vodka! Vodka will kill the bacteria causing foul odors.

13)Not only does Vodka preserve socialism, it also preserves flowers! Add a few drops of Vodka, along with a teaspoon of sugar to the water in your vase of flowers.

14)Tired of everyone knowing you use Febreez to freshen the smell of your clothing? well use Vodka! I know what you’re thinking,  you’d hate to walk around reeking of distilled alcohol right? Well, prepare to be amazed; vodka kills off bacteria causing odor in your clothing. Spray your clothing with the Vodka, and hang to dry in a well ventilated area. Once the Vodka has dried, the scent will disappear. So now your clothing will smell fresh, without it smelling fresh.(if that makes sense)
