Partnering with The Public Broadcasting System (PBS), Students at Detroit High School of the Arts will launch 30 Minutes With Detroit on PBS’ new digital platform this fall. This show is created by high school students as part of their training in a media arts and communication program. They are involved in every aspect of production from concept development to filming, set design, hosting, editing, graphics, etc.
With the exception of the Teen HYPE segment, the 30 Minutes With Detroit sizzle reel was filmed at The Detroit High School of Arts.
Show segments were conceived, in part, to consistently connect more Detroit youth to resources and opportunities that will help them succeed in school and life.
To grow a better connected, more cohesive youth-serving community, more than 250 individuals and groups who work with children, teens and / or young adults will be given an opportunity to be featured on 30 Minutes With Detroit.
R. Lee Gordon , producer to the show says ” I’m proud to be involved in a great project. We want to engage High School Students in productive media from other communities”
30 Minutes with Detroit needs to raise funds to film 13 episodes and license the production for distribution.
