Havelock Nelson is a Senior Account Executive at Goodman Media International, contributing to a broad range of award-winning and highly successful national public relations campaigns. He has represented leading arts venues, including The Museum at Bethel Woods and Harlem Stage; book authors, including Walter Dean Myers; and numerous nonprofit advocacy groups in health care, the environment, and government policy reform, including among others, the following: The Access Project of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health; the American Library Association, and the NAACP.
Prior to joining Goodman Media, Havelock was a journalist. He was a music editor at Billboard magazine and has also written for Rolling Stone, Vibe, the Village Voice, The Boston Globe, the New York Daily News, Entertainment Weekly, and Interview. He has scripted television programs for MTV and is the author of the critically praised book Bring the Noise: A Guide to Rap Music & Hip-Hop Culture.
